COMPUTER BASED EXAMINATIONS-BOABC Members
Building Official Association members who wish to take examinations must be pre-authorized by the BOABC before being provided access to register and schedule their exam with the testing center. Pre-authorization verifies candidates are current members in good standing and eligible to write the requested exam.
BOABC members can register for pre-authorization by filling out the Exam Authorization Application Form
There is a $25.00 administration fee for each exam application. Members will be invoiced on their Member login account.
Once the application form is received, it will be processed and a pre-authorization letter will be issued by email within 72 hours. This letter enables the candidate to schedule their own exam at the testing center of their choice.
The contracted testing centers are operated by PEARSON VUE and require a payment fee of $200.00, payable directly to them when the candidate is scheduling the exam with them.
Important and more detailed information on the examination process and exams can be found here: Exam Information Bulletin .
