Building Officials’ Association Act
The Building Officials’ Association of British Columbia is governed by the Building Officials’ Association Act. This Act specifies that the Association assists in developing and maintaining building regulations, promote their uniform interpretation, and provide training and certification for building officials, according to B.C. Laws.
Executive Code of Conduct
The purpose of the Executive Code of Conduct is to protect the public interest by regulating building and plumbing officials, based on the Association’s history and values, the laws applicable to the organization and its business, and good governance practices.
Bylaws
These bylaws establish key governance structures and practices for the Association, as well as core elements of programs that the Association offers.
Code of Ethics
The purpose of the Code of Ethics is to give general statements of the principles of ethical conduct so that members may fulfill their duty to the public, the profession and the other members of the Association.
Building Act
The Building Act brings greater consistency for technical building requirements and improves how construction codes are understood and applied around B.C.
Administrative Agreement
This agreement details responsibilities, obligations, and procedures for the execution and oversight of Association administrative functions.
Policies
These policies provide clear guidelines and rules for decision-making, behavior, and operations within the Association.
Fee Schedule 2026-27
The Association is committed to establishing and communicating membership dues and program
or service fees in a consistent and transparent manner.
