John Wall, Architect AIBC, Principal Architect, Public, Architecture & Communication

John has 25 years of experience in architecture, with a focus on large-scale residential projects. He is the Architectural Lead on the $70M SFU Residences and the recently completed King Edward Residences in Vancouver.

John is chair of the City of Vancouver Urban Design Panel and a regular guest critic at the UBC School of Architecture.

Ken King, Manager, Hanscomb Quantity Surveyors

Ken has successfully delivered quantity surveying, project management, and development management services to public-private partnership transportation and building projects.

Ken has recently been involved in the New Vision Park Mass Timber Social Housing project in North Bay, ON and the Encapsulated Mass Timber Study with the National Research Council of Canada.

Eric Wood, Façade Specialist/Mass Timber Practice Lead, Morrison Hershfield Façade Engineering Group

A mass timber technical subject matter expert, Eric has spent the past several years overseeing the commercialization of mass timber and unitized building components for commercial, residential, and multi-family construction.

Eric has worked on several complex prefabricated mass timber projects including UBC Brock Commons and New Vision Park Mass Timber Social Housing project in North Bay, Ontario.

Ivan Lee, Component Modelling Team Lead, Morrison Hershfield

Ivan has experience evaluating thermal bridging and condensation risks in building assemblies to establish effective thermal performance of the building envelope for manufacturer products and systems, new construction, and low energy retrofit projects.

As a LEED Accredited Professional, Ivan also has experience in sustainable building design.

Henning White, Senior Code Consultant, Morrison Hershfield

Henning has over 15 years of experience in Building and Fire Code consulting including the design optimization with the Fire Code provisions in B.C. and constructability of Encapsulated Mass Timber Construction.

Henning has experience developing alternative solutions to technical challenges in mass timber projects.. These include considerations for concealed spaces and flame spread ratings of exposed surfaces.

Kalum Galle, Principal Project Manager & Sustainability Practice Lead, Morrison Hershfield

With over 15 years’ experience in sustainable development, Kalum has experience in building rating systems, energy audits/retrofits, climate resiliency and risk assessment, and construction management.

Kalum was recently involved in the development of Zero Carbon Building Standards with Canada Green Building Council.
