A Regular member who is in good standing and has successfully obtained Level 3 Certification, is eligible to apply for permission to use the designation of Registered Building Official (RBO).
A Regular, Retired, Associate 1, Associate 2 or a Life Member who is in good standing and has successfully passed the Level 1, 2 and 3 Examinations, is eligible to apply for permission to use the designation of Building Code Qualified (BCQ).
Applicants are responsible for downloading their Pledge and completing the RBO/BCQ Designation Agreement. These can be found by logging into your Member Portal under Applications.
To have your Pledge administered, you will need to set up a time with your Zone Director, and you will also need a witness to initial beside your signature on the Designation Agreement. Once the Designation Agreement is signed, please forward to your Zone Director for their signature. They will then forward to the BOABC office.
