Presentation Overview:
The Effective R-value calculator provides climate zone-appropriate insulated wall assembly solutions that are easily comparable with national and provincial energy efficiency prescriptive provisions. Some designers use this tool to provide building officials with verification of effective thermal insulation values for walls and therefore a demonstration of code compliance. This webinar will teach you, as a building official, about the capabilities of this free tool, and what to look for when you receive the report as part of the permit application. By the end of the webinar, you will understand how the tool calculates the thermal insulation values and the durability analysis so you can confidently reference and accept the output.
