CWC – Canadian Quality System and Lumber Grade Stamps for Building Officials: What you need to know – Webinar June 15th

Canadian Wood Works Virtual Education Presentation #1

Premise: In a low supply high demand market scenario, much like the one that the North American Lumber market is currently in- the propensity/ likelihood for increased global imports is greater than ever and is to be expected in an open market environment.  However, when lumber is used in a structural application, it must perform appropriately to ensure the finished building is safe for public use. Sidenote: (last year there were reports and notifications that substandard offshore lumber somehow entered the Eastern Canadian construction market.)

By way of building inspections, Building Officials are in many ways the last line of defence assisting/ensuring that construction meets the minimum acceptable building regulations as established by the Provincial Government (by way of National Standards and a National Building Code).

Sukh Johal from the Canadian Wood Council in collaboration with the Canadian Lumber Standards Association and the National Lumber Grades Authority presents a 90-minute-long education:

Canadian Quality System and Lumber Grade Stamps for Building Officials: What you need to know.

Available in a webinar format from 9am to 10:30am (PST).  Presentation date: Tuesday, June 15th, 2021
