In this session, we’ll look back at the history and origins of these BC-specific documents and explore how they became part of British Columbia’s building regulatory framework. Together, we’ll examine their use through the lenses of code compliance, professional practice, and municipal risk management, with the goal of encouraging discussion and sharing perspectives on an area where practice and local interpretation can sometimes vary.
A special guest from Engineers and Geoscientists BC will join the conversation as we explore the intersection of regulation, professional practice, and local administration, and how these influences shape the use of Letters of Assurance in Part 9 projects today.
