Presentation Title: Understanding Structural Light Wood Framing Inspections – Roofs

Presentation Description: This session will provide background information on the premanufactured wood truss industry, explain the roles and responsibilities of the truss designer, building designer, and the building official.
Discuss Inspection essentials (truss bearings, multi-ply trusses and fastenings, permanent and temporary bracing and anchorage systems) and will provide clarification for solar panel loading and RSI 20 truss heel requirements that comply to the Step Code.

Presenter: Kenneth Su

Presenter’s Bio: Ken Su is a graduate of BCIT Civil and Structural Engineering Diploma Program and comes to us with over 25 years of experience in the prefabricated wood truss industry. In that time he has held several positions/roles first as a Engineering Tech, then a Commercial Project’s designer and now is the Western Canadian Technical Support Rep for MiTek Canada. He also serves as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Western Wood Truss Association of British Columbia
