Brian Champlin

After leaving college in the early 70’s, Brian spent 5 years in the construction industry where he obtained his interprovincial TQ in Carpentry and Joinery, then 10 years in Retail Management, 15 years in Construction Management and 16 years as a dual Building and Plumbing Official. He is currently working with the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary as the Manager of Building Inspection Services.

Over the years, Brian has been involved as a volunteer for many organizations, and is currently a Vice President on the BOABC Executive Committee where he has held several positions, such as the Kootenay Zone Director, Vice President of Membership Services and Vice President of Education for the past 12 years. Brian is currently serving as Chair of the BOABC Examinations Committee.

Brian was previously an active member of the Executive Committee for the Terrace Junior Chamber of Commerce – and served with the Jaycees for 9 years, Boy Scouts of Canada for 6 years, as a Novice Level Competitive Judge and Test Evaluator for Skate Canada for 35 years, a volunteer Fire Fighter and First Responder with Thornhill Fire Department in Terrace, BC for 5 years and an Auxiliary Fire Fighter with Nelson Fire Rescue for 17 years.

He is an avid Photographer, aspiring artist and published poet. He enjoys each day to the fullest, is married to Wilma Champlin, and has two wonderful children: Aaron and Christina.
