This presentation introduces changes to the spray foam industry which resulted in significant reduction of its environmental impact and becoming one of the insulations with the lowest amounts of embodied carbon. It also discusses how spray foam can reduce the overall embodied carbon and operational carbon while meeting various code requirements, through extensive assembly testing such as air barrier systems, full radon protection, and fire-rated walls and floors. The presentation also highlights spray foam’s EPD and show how to extract embodied carbon data and compare data of various construction materials.
