New construction and housing are priorities in communities across BC. However, local governments, First Nations communities, and the building industry face many barriers to delivering new construction and housing, including time-consuming processes, inconsistency in bylaws and terminology across jurisdictions, and difficulty accessing accurate data. To help address these barriers, the Province of BC is developing a Building Permit Hub to streamline and standardize building permitting processes across jurisdictions in BC to alleviate capacity constraints and pressures to deliver more construction.
As local governments and First Nations communities have diverse needs, priorities, and capacities, CEA is launching the Digital Permitting Peer Network as a space to increase awareness of the Building Permit Hub, support local governments and First Nations communities interested in digital permitting, and accelerate the transition to digital permitting processes and tools.
The CEA is pleased to invite you to join them on Thursday, April 24h, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM PT, to learn more about the Building Permit Hub and discuss digital permitting with your peers.
