Gary Deane

Gary has been a member of the BOABC for 26 years and has 6 years previous experience serving on the executive committee. For the past 7 years, he has been employed by the City of Williams Lake first as a Senior Building Official, and currently as their Chief Building Official. Before moving across the street to work with the city, he spent 19 years with the Cariboo Regional District working out of the main office in Williams Lake, as well as spending significant time working out of the Quesnel and 100 Mile House CRD offices.

He is a Registered Building Official – RBO and CRBO – with 26 years experience employed by local government and is qualified as a Level 3 Building Official, Level 1 Plumbing Official and is WETT certified. Prior to changing careers in 1994, he spent 16 years in construction as a Journeyman Drywall Finisher.

On a personal note, he has been married for 40 years and has learned that compromise is the solution to most problems. He spends as much free time as possible outdoors hunting, fishing, and cutting firewood.
