Presentation Title: New Resources for Code-Compliant Part 9 Structures Built with Insulating Concrete Forms

Presentation Description:

As high performance and resilience in our buildings becomes increasingly the law of the land, more builders are making Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs) their system of choice for both below-grade and above-grade building enclosures.
Important new resources for design and construction of Part 9 buildings with ICFs are now available to the public and code administrators in BC. Please join ICF expert Douglas Bennion for an introduction to two of the most advanced “How To” guides for building ICFs, including our own BC-grown “Building Envelope Guide for Houses – Part 9”, which features a new and detailed set of guidelines for building code-compliant ICF structures from footings to trusses.
Also featured will be a new industry-sponsored engineering guide for construction of Part 9 structures, including engineering stamps for all 10 Canadian provinces. This guide can apply to Part 9 structures in a wide range of seismic and wind conditions found in our province.
