Architects Regulation: Reserved Practice of Architecture

Please be advised that Descriptive Material – Architects Regulation: Reserved Practice of Architecture (July 2024) has been updated and is now available on the AIBC website.

The Architects Regulation was introduced on February 10, 2023, in line with AIBC being brought under the Professional Governance Act. The Architects Regulation defines the practice of architecture in the province and the “Reserved Practice” of architecture. Guidance was first published by the AIBC in September 2023 to help the public understand the Reserved Practice of architecture in British Columbia, including when an Architect is required on a project.
