A Registered Building Official having 18 years of experience with municipalities in various roles – regulating building codes, bylaws, and regulations. Zara has spent the last 3 years as the Chief Building Inspector with the District of Lake Country. In 2005, Zara joined the BOABC Executive Committee as the Zone Director for the South Central Interior Zone. Shortly after, she became Vice-President (Certification and Member Services). Zara has a diploma in Building Engineering Technology from BCIT and is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Public Sector Management). Zara regularly volunteers at the local homeless shelter. Zara was born in Vancouver, BC. She is living with her boyfriend, Kraig and their cat P.I.T.A. (Pain In The Ass) and they are planning to build a duplex in the near future. Zara has two grown children, Steven and Jagger.
